Tried to make a bass drum practice pad from ikea stuff today. A couple of screws, some contact glue, and some parts from ikea and art friend. Gotta paint the plywood black when I have free time. The design is way too simple, and ain't perfect. The jutting out pit is a bit too thick, so I couldn't attach my yamaha pedal on it. Would try to make one using 2 L brackets and a small piece of plywood at the base of the thing in between the 2 brackets. That way most pedals should be able to clip onto the small piece of plywood rather than the L frame itself. And when I eventually find a piezo, I wanna stuff it on the surface and stick another mouse pad over it so I can use it as a trigger. Couldn't find a piezo transducer at sim lim square today... maybe i didnt try hard enough.
Round Ikea "Lagis" mouse pad: $0.90
3 Ikea "Heat" cork coasters: $3.90
L shaped wall mount... cant remember the name, but it was a couple of bucks
Over priced piece of plywood from art friend which was a bit too narrow for a double pedal: $4
The mouse pad glued to the coaster makes a decent practice pad, quieter than the remo ones too!
